To produce an audio-responsive film encompassing all visual elements for Album Akhõ. We combined live-simulations with CGI to tell the story.
This story of 'akhõ' describes the journey of the soul entering a human body known as 'The Observer. It goes through various stages of outward and inner exploration, simultaneously. This album is an one hour long journey across the universe whilst it's an meditating experience for the listener looking inwards, living life as a human, learning the knowledge that lies within itself through its own experience.
We were approached by the client to interpret the story visually and create an immersive trailer for the album release. Our concept took inspiration from space travel; a daring journey from a lost space to finding a planet!
The primary concern was that the theme and soundtracks had to explore the invisible gravity using an abstract approach but again, for our open nature and a willingness to take chances we ensured that we stayed true to the overall landscape and themes of the concept like space. In this final iteration we tried to reach an ultimate fascination with the mysterious and near transcendental “stars” that keep us from the darkness.

Using procedural graphics we created many digital assets representing elements of space which was then rendered into a 2 minute CGI film for the trailer release.The film is audio responsive and in the process we also shared the process and detailed budgeting for an entire one hour immersive show at clubs and music festivals.
We explored the world of procedural sound-responsive visualization, thereby producing a film that encompasses all elemental attributes in Akhõ.
After forming different concept prototypes we tried different rendering settings to achieve a specific look for different sketches. The concept prototype was made immersive with computer graphic techniques; The final version of the concept is rendered in cloud and hence prototypes were converted to a format that is much more practical so, we invested our efforts on unity 3D to build unity scenes and objects with scripting to get further creative and technical control on the software for rendering the entire movie.
